A friend on the Metalmeet site asked me to show how to form a copper vase out of a piece of copper tube.

final stage next to starting pipe

Planished and ready for the 3rd anneal.

Here I am working on the final pass of shrinking the neck diameter.
The stake is positioned right below the hammer so that each blow not only shrinks the neck, it also stretches the side.

After I formed another groove around the neck I move to another stake to put the final smooth funnel shape in the top.

I want to have a smooth taper between the top which I have left at the same dia and the new groove I just formed in the neck. Here I raise (shrink) the surface into a smooth funnel shape.
