Fire in the Belly

Steel Repoussé", dimensions 24 x 24" x 60" h
This is a one of a kind piece hammered from flat sheet.
The Narrative.

In Pursuit of the National Gormand

Once upon a time there was a house with two point fore kids, a Mommy, a Daddy, a dog and a cat; they always promised the pony but never delivered. It was into this never-land that our heroes fell, near full formed. Waiting waiting for a dream.

Barbie, first Barbie, Barbie came first and then Ken.
They seemed the perfect couple, at first, but it was Barbie that had it all.
The looks, the hair, the career, I mean careers. And what a clothes horse.
All those suits and gowns . . .
Her own cars, boats . . .

Poor Ken just kind of faded into the shadows. He started hanging out with the good ol'boys down at the tavern, and he tipped a few, and a few more. Pretty soon he was a regular. Bubba .. Bubba Ken. and what with the beer and bein married to a gormet chef, and he ate a lot, just to show how much he liked it, seconds, thirds ??? Oh sure! This is delicious hon' . . .
He was amicable enough, and managed to keep Barbie happy, most the time. Still had that fire in the belly, kept him goin every day.

And Barbie, she was a rocket. Race car driver, Business woman, Model, Starlet, cripes she even was an astronaut for a while. Write out of this world. Perfect . . . and Kenny put on a few more pounds.

but Babs finally slowed down, picked up mass; baked a lot more, found out that chocolate was good for her and attacked it with a passion.. Filled out a bit, nipped and tucked and filled out a bit more. She still worked at trying to stay in shape. To live is to dance, and so we find her balanced between flexible and chocolate, in tights.

Babs and Bubba, the latter, fatter years. You've met Bubba Ken, but you haven't seen Babs yet. At least not lately. Good ol Barb is a lot more woman than most could ever hope to handle.

All I have of Babs is a quick sketch at this point and a rough clay mass model that needs more work, but she is coming. In her own suite time.
